Men in the world of cosmetics

In recent times, more and more cosmetic procedures and cosmetics have been developed specifically for men.

On the one hand, the reason for this is that the cosmetics industry has also recognized that men have different expectations of certain products and procedures than women.

Men have a different skin structure, so the cosmetic industry has to respond to completely different problems related to male skin. Fortunately, this has been recognized not only by scientific fields and industry players dealing with male skin, but also by men themselves. As a result, more and more men are visiting cosmetic and aesthetic salons that offer specific treatments for men.

Men's skin on the face and body has a different structure than women's, which can be explained by the increased presence of the male hormone testosterone. Men's skin is usually thicker, more massive, denser, fatter and hairier than women's. The amount of fibers that ensure the density of the skin is much greater in men's skin and they have a completely different structure than in women. As a result, the first wrinkles, spots or sagging of the skin appear much later on men's skin. At the same time, for example, the wrinkles that appear are much more noticeable in men and their deepening usually occurs much faster than in women.

Men have larger pores, which means their skin is oilier and more prone to skin problems. Since men have many more sebaceous glands, they also have many more pores that carry sebum to the surface of the skin. This makes men's skin oilier and shinier, so older men's skin loses less moisture than women's, meaning men generally struggle less with dry skin.

However, shaving products used from puberty onwards are very damaging to men's skin. The razor removes the top layer of skin cells, making the skin sensitive to external influences, easily reddening and drying out.

Our experience shows that nearly half of our male guests struggle with some kind of shaving-related skin problem.

Similarly, the development of cellulite is less common in men. If it does appear, it occurs much later than in women. At the same time, abdominal fat and the rubber band effect or beer belly appear much more often in them. Various treatments are excellent for these problems, especially therapy performed as a course with the PowerShape2 body shaping device. This is because a reduction in body volume, i.e. weight loss, can be achieved, which is one of the important goals of weight loss diets.

Men's skin benefits from using professional quality products, an effective skin care routine, and shaving carefully with a clean, sharp blade.
