Radiofrequency facial rejuvenation against sagging skin

One of our most popular facial treatments is radiofrequency facial rejuvenation, which can achieve noticeable improvements in skin structure. The structure, firmness, and color of our skin constantly change over time. Although the wheel of time cannot be stopped, there are many cosmetic solutions to reduce the visible signs.

The firmness and elasticity of the skin are provided by the fiber network in the dermis. The fiber network consists of different fibers. Among collagen (glue fiber), elastin (elastic fiber) and reticular fibers (grid fibers), collagen fibers occur in the largest mass in the human body, forming massive bundles. That is why collagen fibers are very difficult to tear.

Collagen molecules are produced by fibroblasts, the characteristically spread, large basal cells that make up connective tissue.

Fibroblasts continuously produce collagen and other proteins. As we age, the function of fibroblasts decreases, so less collagen is produced, the skin loses its firmness, small and then deeper wrinkles appear, the skin of the face and neck stretches and sags. Due to such structural changes, the skin also loses its thickness, especially on the face, neck, chest and the surface of the hands. According to scientific research, the number of epidermal cells decreases by about 6.4% per decade.

During radiofrequency facial rejuvenation, we apply selective heat to the tissues with radiofrequency energy. The intense heat energy heats the deep and surface layers at the same time. The heat causes the collagen fibers to contract immediately, which results in a significant tightening effect. In addition, the heat also increases the activity of fibroblasts, which results in the formation of a new collagen network with the appropriate structure.

During radiofrequency facial rejuvenation, collagen shrinkage, loose, sagging skin, and flaccid connective tissue (for example, on the upper arms) can be significantly reduced.

One of the latest developments is Thermage, which uses focused radiofrequency to work at the cellular level, instantly tightening the skin. The results of radiofrequency skin tightening are visible after the first treatment, but sagging skin can be really reduced with a multi-use treatment.
